King Kora takes the griot music to another dimension. You can hear the funky griot Lamin Jobarteh playing the kora on the edge of tradition and creation riding on deep manding, afro-beat and all king of grooves, singing history but also his stories. You can hear talking drums, crying guitars and laughing horns and above all, a music that reflects all the battles and the coming together of this band.
Both of their CDs, "King Kora" (2002/RecRec) and "Bundung" (2005/Ayam/RecRec), have been in the European World Music Charts.
