Der junge lokale «Singjay» Junia Bardo singt und rappt auf schweizerdeutsch seit er 13 Jahre alt ist. Zuerst sehr vom Hip-Hop begeistert, kreierte er mit Schulfreunden die ersten Songs. Nach und nach wurde Reggae immer ein grösseres Thema für ihn und er fokussierte sich mit seinem Mixtape «Eigentlich», das im Dezember 2013 veröffentlicht wurde, voll und ganz auf die Reggae- und Dancehall-Szene. Mit Irie Shottaz aus Basel produzierte er die neun Songs und releaste anschliessend neue Lieder unter anderem auch mit Künstlern wie Cali P. Nach vielen Live-Shows und Studio Sessions gönnte er sich eine Pause und lernte auf Reisen in Südafrika Selecta Marlonizzle kennen, der dieselbe Vorliebe für Conscious-Musik teilte. Seitdem sind die zwei ständig zusammen unterwegs und präsentieren Musik, die in ihrem Geschmack «Uplifting» ist. Im 2017 geht Junia Bardo noch einen Schritt weiter und veröffentlicht monatlich neue Songs, in denen er auch auf Trap oder Afrobeats singt. 2021 veröffentlicht er mit “Bruch Din Chopf” in Kombination mit Elijah Salomon erstmals einen Songs auf One Camp Records. Zurzeit ist er an einer neuen EP dran und neue Musik ist für 2024 geplant. Macht euch gefasst auf ein musikalisch Genre-übergreifendes Erlebnis!

What could be better than spending the whole night with the person you like the most? Bliss but also pain can sometimes lie close together. "All Night Long" takes us on this bitter-sweet adventure, just like in an exciting movie. Elijah Salomon, Junia Bardo and Chado Evans are the main characters in this film. The beat opens the heart with its mixture of dancehall, reggaeton and Congolese vibes.

Not losing your head in difficult times
Anyone who claims that he or she escaped the pandemic can only be serious with a twinkle in his or her eye - it was simply impossible. Elijah Salomon and Junia Bardo also felt it and - like many others in the present time - had to come to terms with it somehow. "Bruch din Chopf"(Use your head) with Junia Bardo is a song about the pandemic, which questions the whole thing a critically and should animate the listeners to just the same. Elijah asks: "Wo bringt eus das no hii, d'Welt regiert vo Pandemie" (Where is this taking us, the world is ruled by the pandemic). All the measures that are taken all over the world - is the health of the people really in the center of interest? The two singers felt the urge to talk about the things that are happening at the present time. The young, up-and-coming artist Junia Bardo lives up to the title of the song when he sings: "Sie wännd das mer hiegänd, wie sie’s gsähnd. Überlegg für mich älleige, s’hät mi niemert überrännt. Es regiert nur Selassie zeig mer de Wäg, zeig mer wohi" (they want us to surrender, to see it as they see it. i think for myself alone, no one has overrun me. Only Selassie rules, show me the way, show me where to go). He calls on people to stick together in these difficult times and not lose their heads.
