I can't BEGIN to tell you the IMMENSE overhaul OneCamp has in store for in 2006. We have prayed & determined that a completely new OneCamp is to be unveiled this year. Here is a short list of HUGE changes in store for 2006: (READ MORE)
NEW WORSHIP CENTER: Our worship center is in the process of being enclosed and air conditioned. This will be a first for OneCamp; an indoor worship center without distractions, mosquitoes, rainouts or the extreme heat of South Texas. How great it will be to come to worship without suncreen and OFF! We will be using extensive multimedia that has been unavailable to us in the past due to competition with the Sun's light. This has been 15 years of prayer in the making.
MORNING WORSHIP: Beginning this year we have a new schedule structure. The schedule on the website is incorrect at this time. We hope to have the new structure posted soon. JAM, or "Training" as it has been called the last few years, has gone to be with Jesus. We are rescheduling that time to the morning for a separate High School Morning Worship and a Junior High Morning Worship with our camp pastor, drama team and our full worship band.
DRAMA: Yes- OneCamp now has a professional drama company for our entire camp this year at OneCamp. I'm saving the name of our choice until our commitment is "official", but the drama company will create a great new dimension in our worship.
BIBLE STUDY: We will continue to have our daily age-grouped Bible study with Aaron Hendrick. This will be moved to the afternoon.
BRAND NEW .NET SITE: Our student site, www.OneCamp.Net is being COMPLETELY transformed to create a better post-camp follow-up for us all. Of course, you know that, because you're here reading it. BUT, new things are being added all the time. Log in daily & check for new content. This new site will include improved message boards with student log-in & password, IP banning (for the freaks that want to post stupid messages from internet world), News feeds, Forums, Chat modules, Journaling (either public or private- so you can created & maintain an online journal of your walk), videos from the week, links to great discipleship ministries and direct emailing to other campers from the site. We're excited about the overhaul of OneCamp.Net and know that it will be a great tool for you to keep up with your students after camp. The new site is almost complete and will be posted over the current OneCamp.Net within the next few weeks. Be sure to encourage your friends to log in and check it out before camp!
